Not just for locals – welcome ALL!

Welcome to Cullen Community & Residential Centre

We provide a range of indoor and outdoor facilities for community groups, activities & social events, as well as affordable group accommodation for our guests

The town of Cullen is a fantastic group holiday destination and great place to live, with many things to see and do within easy walking distance, right on our doorstep.

Sand

Cullen’s main beach, ranked as one of the top rated beaches across the whole UK, lies to the West of the ‘Three Kings’ rock formations, stretching along the edge of Cullen Golf Course. Discover also the magic of ‘Sunny Side’ beach further along to the East as you venture out toward the dramatic ruins of Findlater Castle.

Sea

Whether surfing, fishing, floating on the surface or diving beneath, your imagination is the limit. If you want something more structured there are group courses and activities available at Cullen’s ‘Sea School’ where you can experience boat-building, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, dinghy sailing and coastal rowing. Many opportunities also exist for spotting marine wildlife, even from the shore, including seals, dolphins, porpoises, minke whales, orcas, as well as many other species of wild flora & fauna.

Explore

Between ‘Bow Fiddle Rock’ to the West & the ruins of ‘Findlater Castle’ to the East, there’s plenty of coastal trails, with caves, interesting geology, iconic Viaducts, skipping stones at ‘the Burn’, the panorama from ‘Castle Hill’, as well as many woodland paths behind Cullen and more. Whether sharing outdoor experiences as part of group activities or just to escape on your own for while, this really is beautiful & peaceful part of the world, waiting for you to discover its treasures for yourself!

Fun!

The community centre offers facilities for hire for hosting recreational group activities. We also specialize in providing affordable group accommodation, such as for school trips, scouts, boys brigade, guides & brownies, team building, geology field trips, various visitor groups from oversees, and many others, often returning to visit Cullen year after year. From art classes to dog obedience training, its also a great way to get out and meet new friends whilst having some fun!

OUR CHARITABLE AIMS

Together for the common good of Cullen

Our aims are to provide recreational facilities at Cullen Community Centre for the benefit of all members of the public, with priority given to the community. They also include the general advancement of community development in Cullen.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

Supporting the needs of the community

Good community development is action that helps us to recognize and develop our own local abilities and potential, and to organize ourselves to respond to the problems and needs which we all share.
– to create wealth and give everyone access to its benefits
– to care for all its members, when they need it, throughout their life span
– to provide an environment that is safe and attractive
– to enable people to express and celebrate their creativity and diverse cultures
– to enable everyone to participate in decisions that affect their lives

THREE KINGS CULLEN ASSOCIATION

How we came about

The centre is run by a local charity called The Three Kings Cullen Association, which is directed by a team of local volunteers. In 2017, the local authority announced that it was going to close the Cullen CRC by June 2018 with a view to demolishing the building in 2019 unless the people of Cullen took on the building as a ‘Community Asset Transfer’ (CAT). A community meeting, attended by around 100 people, was held in the Cullen Town Hall where it became clear that the will of the people of Cullen was to keep the centre open.
